SculptureS

Below is a selection of sculptural works I have created over the years. Most of these pieces were designed and built by me, while others incorporate found objects.

THE MAKING OF

SLOW DOWN! LOOK UP.

For this piece, I drew inspiration from Barbara Kruger’s stylistic approach, particularly her use of a bold red background and large, white text. The striking red color effectively captures attention, especially when displayed on a large scale. This work is designed as a 'human speed bump' to be placed in areas with high foot traffic and surrounding buildings. Its purpose is to interrupt the hurried pace of daily life, encouraging passersby to pause and appreciate the natural beauty around them. I wanted to explore the significance of the color red in nature, often serving as a warning or attention-grabber. In a world where many are consumed by their phones or preoccupied with other concerns, this piece aims to remind people to slow down, take in their surroundings, and cultivate a deeper appreciation for the environment. By doing so, we can develop a 'sense of place,' fostering a stronger connection with the spaces we inhabit and enhancing our overall experience.
